Staff Accountant

Position Description

As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring proper bookkeeping and financial statements so we can continue to make the internet un-boring for thousands of Coloradoans.

You’ll be playing a critical role in finance, identifying opportunities to add value and modernize our business processes. Working with our partners to ensure project initiatives and deadlines are met. And communicating financial results clearly to the management team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain financial records for the organization, including accounts payable, payroll, work orders, property records, and the general ledger
  • Prepare various financial statements and reports
  • Ensure account balances are accurate
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Ensure proper compliance with GAAP

Qualifications

  • Understanding of basic accounting concepts as well as consolidation accounting and strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Strong knowledge of fixed asset accounting
  • Strong knowledge of multi-county taxation
  • Ability to work under and deliver under deadline constraints
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and drive (and in a team)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Excellent PC and technology skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to identify and understand issues/problems as it relates to the data received from alternate sources

Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related fields
  • Perform calculations, posting of journal entries, analysis, and reporting related to complex GAAP accounting transactions
  • Develop and communicate solutions for continuous process improvement within the job function
  • Assist with various accounting projects and report on performance
  • Heavily document, report and follow through on recommendations from projects
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to ensure
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and other financial modeling tools
