October 1: Helpful Information To Keep Your Family Safe this Fall

As a local company, we know we have a responsibility to our community when times get hard. That means following all local, state, and federal guidelines to ensure the safety of our team, our subscribers, and our community at large. That also means taking the necessary steps to ensure a fast, consistent internet service to empower our local workforce, our students, and the countless businesses who rely on us for a stable connection.

August 27: Jade Office Remains Closed to Public

Please know, the safety and wellbeing of each Jade subscriber and team member is our top priority. We are actively following CDC guidelines and implementing additional preventative measures to ensure we are keeping our communities connected without taking unnecessary risks. One of those measures is keeping our office closed to the public. By doing this, we are minimizing contact, ensuring our team is healthy and ready to serve you.

If you need to make a payment, we recommend doing so online at https://gojade.org/paybill/, with a credit card over the phone by calling 719.589.5140, or by utilizing the payment drop box located on the East side of our building.

July 10: Jade Announces New Work From Home Internet Plan

As the fallout from the novel coronavirus continues, it is clear that ordinary, basic Wi-Fi will not meet the demands of the thousands of people in the San Luis Valley working from home. To meet this growing need and to provide our subscribers with the best experience online, we created and developed a new, super charged internet plan: Wi-Fi to Work from Home.

Also called Wi-Fi for Streamers, Wi-Fi to Work from Home provides enough bandwidth for several household members to stream HD/4K video, work from home, and do homework – all at the same time. June 25: Network Level Home Security Now included with Jade Premium Wi-Fi

May 7: Jade Releases New Wi-Fi App

As all of us struggle to come to grips with the ramifications of the pandemic, we’ve developed and launched the all new Jade WiFi app. The app is a huge life save for Jade subscribers, especially as they work from home and pursue remote learning.  The app, available for free on the App Store and Google Play, allows users to change their network name and password, run remote speed tests, set up a guest network, view network usage, enable/disable WiFi applications via the app, and so much more. The Jade WiFi app is available in both the App Store and on Google Play.

April 10: Jade employees encouraged to support local businesses

We know times are tough, and may get tougher in the coming weeks, so we’ve encouraged our team to help. As a local business, we want to help other local businesses. So we have encouraged all Jade team members to support local businesses, including local restaurants. For employees experiencing job loss or other hardships in their households, there is no requirement to shop or spend.

 

Some examples so far of how our employees have spent their money: ordering take out from local businesses, placing online orders for school supplies, and purchasing gift cards to local businesses for personal use or to help others in need.

As an organization, Jade has purchased and provided gift cards to local restaurants to all employees as an example of how to support local business and as a way to say thank you to our team members.

April 4: Jade delivers lunch to healthcare workers at San Luis Valley Health 

Understanding the pivotal role restaurants and healthcare workers have on the vitality of the San Luis Valley, on Saturday, April 4th, we provided gourmet meals from a locally-owned restaurant to essential healthcare workers on the frontlines of the COVID19 defense at San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center. Along with meals, we also provided T-shirts and hand-written thank you notes.

“This was an amazing collaboration of local businesses coming together to recognize all the hard work our employees do here in the San Luis Valley,” said Kelly Gurule, SLV Health Foundation Director. “The staff, at both SLV Health Regional Medical Center and Conejos County Hospital, truly appreciate all the work that went into this, and are thankful to be working with such supportive businesses.”

Jade supports SLV Health, Valley Courier during COVID19

March 24: Jade becomes only San Luis Valley company to sign the FCC’s “Keep Americans Connected Pledge” 

Together with our sister company, Blanca Networks, we signed the Federal Communications Commission’s “Keep Americans Connected Pledge.” We are the first and only providers in the San Luis Valley to sign the Pledge. Along with the other 390 U.S.-based broadband companies and associations that have signed the pledge, we promise to work with customers negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

In addition to signing the “Keep Americans Connected” pledge, we have also committed to offering free internet installs to new customers, provide complimentary speed tier upgrades to families/small businesses, and make available advanced Wi-Fi gear to handle the increased demand as a result of state-mandated online learning and working from home. March 16: Jade Communications Statement – COVID-19 

We recognize that with the constantly changing COVID-19 situation around the world and in our country, this is an unprecedented time for everyone — a time that, for many, is filled with uncertainty. Our hearts and thoughts go out to each and every one of you.

Our priority is the health and safety of our community, customers, and team members. We are adjusting our policies and procedures to enable and encourage employees who are sick to stay home. We are increasing the frequency and rigor of cleaning and disinfecting in our store, offices and operations environments. We are encouraging our staff to maintain social distance from each other and customers as much as possible, and of course, to wash their hands frequently. Our goal is to keep all our employees healthy and working to best service your needs.

As a precautionary measure, we have temporarily closed our storefront to the public. However, we are 100% staffed and ready to serve you. We are continuing to install broadband internet services, provide technical assistance and billing support, and provide premium Wi-Fi service upgrades. We encourage our customers to connect with us using remote means, including calling us at 719.589.5140, visiting our website at GoJade.org, and/or talking with us through our chat function on the website.

We recognize that many people will be relying more than ever before on our broadband internet services to keep connected to important public health information, work, school, and their loved ones. We have taken the FCC’s “Keep Americans Connected Pledge” and pledge the following to you:

Given the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on our community, Jade pledges for the next 60 days to:

  1. Install new services for free

  2. Provide complimentary speed tier upgrades for families/small businesses needing more bandwidth

  3. Make available advanced Wi-Fi gear to provide a better internet experience

As we have committed to this pledge, we have received some inquiries regarding speed upgrades. As it stands, Jade Communications is able to offer speed tier upgrades on a case-by-case basis. While this is usually a paid upgrade, we have removed the payment functionality for 60 days to ensure you have enough bandwidth to stay connected to friends and loved ones. If a customer would like to upgrade their service they must contact us through phone or chat.

As the Coronavirus situation continues to evolve, we will rely on health and safety information from experts to ensure the decisions we make are consistent with local community, state, and federal standards.

*After 60 days of a free speed upgrade, customers will be charged regular rates unless he/she has requested a downgrade. Speed tier upgrades are available at no extra charge from 16 March to 15 May.
